How to Use Mossy and Frozen Cave Surfaces

Mossy surfaces

The Mossy set covers the common cave materials: Mossy Andesite, Mossy Basalt, Mossy Blackstone, Mossy Diorite, Mossy Granite, Mossy Obsidian, Mossy Stone, Mossy Dirt, Mossy Dirt Patch, Mossy Gravel, Mossy Sand, Mossy Red Sand, Mossy Sandstone, Mossy Red Sandstone, Mossy Smooth Sandstone, and Mossy Smooth Red Sandstone. These generate on damp cave floors and walls, often near Brown Roots and Dark Brown Roots.

Frozen surfaces

The Frozen set includes Frozen Andesite Speleothem, Frozen Basalt Speleothem, Frozen Blackstone Speleothem, Frozen Diorite Speleothem, Frozen Granite Speleothem, Frozen Obsidian Speleothem, Frozen Red Sandstone Speleothem, Frozen Sandstone Speleothem, and Frozen Stone Speleothem. Look for them in cold cave pockets alongside Ice Patch and Icicle.

Combining them

Mine both sets and bring them home for landscaping. Use Mossy Dirt and Mossy Dirt Patch as the base layer of a cave garden, then scatter Mossy Stone and Mossy Gravel for texture. In a separate cold room, lay Ice Patch and Icicle with Frozen Stone Speleothem and Frozen Sandstone Speleothem. Keeping the two palettes in separate rooms makes each area read clearly.
