How to Use Hot and Molten Cave Blocks

Recognizing the hot set

The mod adds Hot and Molten versions of the common cave stones. The Hot set includes Hot Andesite, Hot Basalt, Hot Blackstone, Hot Diorite, Hot Granite, Hot Obsidian, Hot Red Sandstone, Hot Sandstone, Hot Smooth Red Sandstone, Hot Smooth Sandstone, and Hot Stone. The Molten set mirrors it: Molten Andesite, Molten Basalt, Molten Blackstone, Molten Diorite, Molten Granite, Molten Obsidian, Molten Red Sandstone, Molten Sandstone, Molten Smooth Red Sandstone, Molten Smooth Sandstone, and Molten Stone.

Handling them safely

Treat Hot and Molten blocks as hazardous terrain. Do not walk across them without protection, and avoid mining straight down into a patch you cannot see. When you need to cross, bridge over with a safe block rather than stepping on the hot surface.

Using them in builds

Once collected, Hot and Molten blocks make strong decorative accents for forges, lava rooms, and volcanic cave builds. Pair Molten Stone with Molten Andesite and Molten Diorite for a layered wall, or use Hot Obsidian and Molten Obsidian as a dark contrast against Hot Basalt and Molten Basalt. Combine them with speleothem blocks to frame the edges of a hot spring room.
