Experiencing Lightning Flash Effects

Trigger Thunderstorms

Stormweave Shaders' lightning effects are most impactful during active thunderstorms with frequent strikes.

Adjust Flash Brightness

In shader settings, find the lightning or flash intensity slider. This controls how bright the landscape becomes when lightning illuminates it. A higher value creates dramatic, sudden brightness that floods the terrain; lower values produce more subtle, realistic flashes.

Optimize for Your Preference

If lightning flashes feel too harsh or cause eye strain, reduce the intensity. If they feel too dim to notice, increase it. The goal is a balance where each strike feels impactful without being overwhelming.

Observe Shadow Behavior

Lightning flashes interact with Stormweave's softened shadows. During a strike, shadows momentarily vanish or reverse as the bright flash dominates the scene. This creates dynamic, realistic lighting that makes storms feel alive and dangerous.

Best Viewing Conditions

Stand in open areas during storms to experience full lightning effects. Underground or heavily covered areas will show reduced flash impact.
