Using POE Drives, Importers, and Exporters

Set up the drive

Place a POE Disk Drive as the storage block for your POE network. Insert a Custom Disk into the drive to define what the drive holds. The drive is the anchor; every other POE block must touch it or another connected POE block.

Move items in and out

Attach a POE Importer to the drive and face it toward the container or machine you want to pull from. Attach a POE Exporter and face it toward the destination you want to push to. Both blocks read from and write to the drive, so items entering through the importer become available to the exporter. Keep the importer and exporter on separate sides of the drive so you can tell at a glance which direction items travel.

Process on site

Place a POE Furnace against the drive to smelt items that pass through the network. Feed raw materials in through the POE Importer, let the POE Furnace process them, and pull the results out through the POE Exporter. This lets a single drive act as both buffer and processing hub. If a connection does not work, check that the block touches the drive or a block already connected to it, since isolated POE blocks are ignored.
