Filtering and Detecting Chemicals

Restrict what enters the network

Place a Chemical Filter on a Chemical Importer or Chemical Exporter to control which chemicals pass. Set the filter to the chemical you want to allow, then connect the importer or exporter to the Chemical Grid. With the filter in place, only the selected chemical moves through that block, so you can keep unwanted chemicals out of storage or send a single chemical to a specific machine.

Detect a chemical and trigger redstone

Place a Chemical Detector against the Chemical Grid or the tank you want to monitor. Configure it to watch for a specific chemical. When that chemical is present, the detector emits a redstone signal. Route that signal to a Chemical Exporter to start draining the chemical, or to a Chemical Importer to stop filling once the target is reached.

Combine with capacitive redstone

Use Capacitive Redstone between the detector and the importer or exporter to smooth the signal and hold a steady state. This prevents rapid on-off switching when the chemical level sits right at the detection threshold. Together, the Chemical Detector, Chemical Filter, and Capacitive Redstone let a Chemical Grid network fill, hold, and drain chemicals automatically based on what is actually stored.
