Maximize God Rays Through Trees and Clouds
Find God Ray Controls
In the shader settings menu, search for God Rays, Crepuscular Rays, Light Shafts, or Volumetric Light options. These control the bright rays that stream through foliage and clouds.
Adjust Ray Intensity and Quality
Key settings include:
- Ray intensity – Higher values make god rays more prominent and visible
- Ray quality/samples – More samples create smoother, more detailed rays (impacts performance)
- Ray length – Controls how far rays extend from their source
- Ray density – Affects how concentrated or spread out the rays appear
Optimize for Your Environment
God rays are most visible when:
- The sun or moon is partially obscured by trees or clouds
- You're in a forest or area with dense foliage
- The sky is bright but not completely clear
Performance Balance
If god rays cause lag, reduce the quality/sample count first—this maintains the effect while improving frame rate. You can also lower intensity slightly for a more subtle appearance that still looks atmospheric.
