Adjust Water Reflection Quality and Appearance
Access Shader Settings
Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls settings or by accessing the shader menu from the pause screen). Look for the Water or Reflections category.
Configure Reflection Parameters
Within the water settings, you'll find sliders and toggles that control:
- Reflection clarity – Higher values make reflections sharper and more detailed
- Reflection distance – Controls how far the shader renders reflections across water surfaces
- Wave intensity – Adjusts the ripple and wave effect on water
- Reflection brightness – Balances how bright reflected sunlight and terrain appear
Apply and Test
After adjusting settings, apply the changes and visit different biomes with water—oceans, rivers, and lakes will show varying results depending on sky brightness and surrounding terrain. Test during different times of day to see how reflections respond to sun position and lighting conditions.
Performance Consideration
If you experience frame rate drops, reduce reflection distance or clarity. These settings have the most impact on performance.
