Using the Smithing Table for the Netherite Staff of Building

Preparing the Inputs

The Netherite Staff of Building is the only staff in the mod made with a smithing recipe. Before you touch a smithing table, make sure you have both inputs ready:

1. A Diamond Staff of Building, crafted from diamonds using the crafting_shaped recipe.

2. A netherite ingot.

If you do not yet have a Diamond Staff of Building, craft one first. Do not craft a spare — the smithing recipe consumes the diamond staff you place in the table.

Performing the Upgrade

Open a smithing table and place the Diamond Staff of Building and the netherite ingot into the appropriate slots. The output slot will show the Netherite Staff of Building. Take the output to complete the upgrade.

After the smithing step, your Diamond Staff of Building is gone and replaced by the Netherite Staff of Building. Because this is the only smithing recipe among the six staves, it is also the only way to obtain the netherite tier — there is no crafting_shaped recipe for it. If you want a second Netherite Staff of Building, you must craft another Diamond Staff of Building and repeat the smithing process with another netherite ingot.
