Upgrading Your Base Ladders to Speedy Ladders

Replacing Existing Ladders

If your base already has vanilla ladders, swap them out tier by tier. Break the old ladder and place a Speedy Ladder in the same block space. No special tool is required.

Plan the upgrade around your material budget:

• Replace low-traffic ladders with Stone Ladder first.
• Replace main stairwell and shaft ladders with Iron Ladder.
• Reserve Gold Ladder for long vertical runs.
• Reserve Diamond Ladder for the single most-used column in the base.

Crafting in Bulk

Each Speedy Ladder comes from a shaped crafting recipe using its base material. To upgrade a full shaft, count the ladder blocks you need, then craft that many of the target tier in one sitting.

• Gather the base material (stone, iron ingots, gold ingots, or diamonds).
• Craft the matching Speedy Ladder in batches.
• Carry scaffolding or a water bucket for safe replacement on tall columns.

Work bottom-to-top when replacing so you always have a ladder to stand on. Keep leftover lower-tier ladders for outposts and mines.
