Picking the Right Speedy Ladder Tier

Tier Comparison by Use Case

The four Speedy Ladders differ only by material and climb speed. Pick by how often you use the column and how much material you can spare.

• Stone Ladder — abundant material, ideal for mines, scaffolding, and temporary builds.
• Iron Ladder — balanced cost, good default for base access.
• Gold Ladder — faster climb, worth it on long shafts.
• Diamond Ladder — fastest climb, best for your primary vertical route.

Matching Tier to Location

Use this rule of thumb:

1. Count how many times per session you climb a given column.

2. If it is once or twice, use Stone Ladder.

3. If it is part of your daily route, use Iron Ladder.

4. If the column is very tall, use Gold Ladder.

5. If it is your main base spine, use Diamond Ladder.

All four are made with shaped crafting recipes from their base material, so upgrading later only costs the new material. Build the column in a single tier for consistent speed, and keep spare ladders of each tier in a chest near your main shaft for quick repairs.
