• Stone Ladder — slowest of the four, but still faster than a vanilla ladder.
• Iron Ladder — noticeably quicker for everyday use.
• Gold Ladder — fast enough for long vertical shafts.
• Diamond Ladder — the fastest climb available.

Choosing the Right Tier

Match the ladder to the job:

• Use Stone Ladder in temporary mineshafts and scaffolding where you may not return.
• Use Iron Ladder in permanent base access points.
• Use Gold Ladder on long elevator shafts where climb time matters.
• Use Diamond Ladder on your main base spine or any column you climb dozens of times per session.

Because all four are crafted with shaped recipes from their base material, you can mass-produce the tier you need without rare drops. Build a continuous column of the same tier — mixing tiers in one shaft means you climb at the speed of the slowest ladder in the stack.
