Set Up Source Water Shaders with Iris

Install Iris Loader

Source Water Shaders requires Iris to run. Download and install Iris for your Minecraft version, then launch the game once to confirm it loads.

Load the Shader Pack

1. Open Minecraft and go to Options > Video Settings

2. Look for the Shaders button (only visible with Iris installed)

3. Click Shaders Folder to open your shader directory

4. Place the Source Water Shaders pack file into this folder

5. Return to the Shaders menu and select Source Water Shaders from the list

6.

Verify Installation

Launch a world with water nearby—rivers, lakes, or oceans should now display reflective surfaces with vintage wave patterns instead of flat, plain water. If water looks unchanged, restart your game and double-check that the shader is selected in the Shaders menu.

Performance Note

Shader compilation may take 30 seconds to a few minutes on first load. This is normal. Once complete, gameplay should run smoothly on most systems.
