Adjust Water Reflections and Wave Intensity

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key (default varies by launcher—check your control settings). Look for the Water or Reflections category in the settings panel.

Fine-Tune Water Effects

Locate sliders for:

  • Wave Height: Controls how pronounced the water surface undulation appears. Lower values create calmer water; higher values add more visible ripples.
  • Reflection Clarity: Adjusts how sharp or soft reflections of the sky and terrain appear on water surfaces.
  • Sun Glare Intensity: Reduces or increases the bright glare effect where sunlight hits water.

Test Your Changes

Navigate to a large body of water—ocean, lake, or river—to see changes in real time. If reflections become too intense and hurt visibility, reduce the clarity slider. For performance, lower wave height slightly if framerates drop near water.

Save your configuration once satisfied. Settings persist across sessions.
