Enable SMAA Shaders and Check if They're Working
Activating the Shader Pack
SMAA MC Shaders works through Iris, so you need Iris installed first. Once installed:
1. Launch Minecraft and go to Options > Video Settings
2. Look for the Shaders button (usually near the bottom)
3. Click Shaders Folder to open the shader directory
4. Place the SMAA MC Shaders pack file into this folder
5. Return to the Shaders menu and select SMAA MC Shaders from the list
6.
Verifying It's Active
Once enabled, you should immediately notice sharper block edges, especially on diagonal lines and distant terrain. The overall color and brightness of your world should remain identical to vanilla—only the edge quality changes.
If your screen looks the same as before, double-check that:
- Iris is properly installed
- The shader file is in the correct shaders folder
- You've actually selected and applied the pack (not just opened the menu)
You can toggle the shader on and off in the same menu to see the before-and-after difference clearly.
