Adjust SMAA Settings for Your Preference
Accessing Shader Options
While SMAA MC Shaders is intentionally simple, some versions may include basic configuration options:
1. Open Video Settings > Shaders
2. With SMAA selected, look for a Shader Options or Settings button
3. If available, you'll see toggles or sliders for edge detection intensity
What You Can Typically Adjust
Most SMAA implementations offer:
- Edge Detection Strength: Controls how aggressively the shader finds and smooths jagged lines
- Temporal Options: Some versions include frame-blending settings for smoother motion
If No Options Appear
Many lightweight SMAA packs intentionally have no settings—the shader is pre-tuned for optimal balance between quality and performance. This is by design. The pack applies a fixed level of anti-aliasing that works well across all hardware.
If you want more control, you may need to use a different, more complex shader pack—but you'll sacrifice the performance benefits that make SMAA valuable for older systems.
