Using a Sleeping Bag: Placing, Sleeping, and Packing Up

Place It Where You'll Sleep

A sleeping bag is a placeable item, so once you have crafted one of the sixteen colors, carry it to where you want to rest and place it down. Set it inside a shelter or beside a campfire rather than in the open, since it is a portable bed substitute you will likely move often.

Sleeping and Moving On

With the sleeping bag placed, use it to sleep through the night the way you would use a bed. When morning comes, you do not have to leave it behind. Break the sleeping bag to pick it back up, then carry it to your next stop. This makes it useful for travel, mining trips, and exploring far from your main base, where hauling a full bed is inconvenient.

If you play with others, each person can craft their own color so bags are easy to tell apart when several are placed side by side. Pick colors from the full list: Black, Blue, Brown, Cyan, Gray, Green, Light Blue, Light Gray, Lime, Magenta, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White, and Yellow Sleeping Bag.

Keep a spare in your inventory so you are never caught without a place to sleep. Because each bag is a single crafted item, replacing a lost one just means running its shaped recipe again.
