Use Different Sky Backgrounds for Different Times of Day
Understand Resource Pack Limitations
Standard resource packs apply the same background texture regardless of in-game time. However, you can work around this by creating multiple versions of the pack or using conditional textures if your launcher supports advanced resource pack features.
Create Multiple Texture Variants
Make several copies of the sky background texture file with different appearances:
- Day version: Bright blue with white clouds
- Sunset version: Orange and pink gradient
- Night version: Dark blue or purple with stars
- Rainy version: Gray and overcast
Manual Switching Method
Create separate resource packs for each time-of-day variant. Name them clearly (e.g., "Sky Inventory - Day", "Sky Inventory - Night"). Switch between them manually in your Resource Packs menu depending on when you play.
Tips
If you use a launcher with advanced features, check if it supports conditional resource pack loading based on time. Otherwise, the manual switching approach is the most practical solution for vanilla Minecraft.
