Make the Sky Background Transparent or Semi-Transparent
Access the Texture File
Locate the background texture in your resource pack's GUI folder. This is the image file that displays behind your inventory slots.
Adjust Opacity in Your Image Editor
Open the texture file in an image editor that supports transparency (like GIMP or Photoshop). Reduce the overall opacity or alpha channel of the image to make it semi-transparent. You can:
- Lower opacity to 50-75% for a subtle effect
- Create a fully transparent background by removing all color data
- Selectively erase parts of the image for partial transparency
Save with Transparency Support
Make sure to save the file as PNG format, which preserves transparency information. Don't convert to JPG, as it doesn't support transparent pixels.
Reload and Test
Reload your resource pack in Minecraft. A transparent or semi-transparent sky will now let you see the world behind your inventory screen, creating a window-like effect while keeping your items readable.
