Upgrading Jetpacks with Armor Plating

Why Add Plating

Every jetpack has an armored counterpart: Basic Jetpack (Armored), Iron Jetpack (Armored), Gold Jetpack (Armored), Diamond Jetpack (Armored), Netherite Jetpack (Armored), and so on up through Ultimate Jetpack (Armored). Armored versions trade extra crafting materials for damage reduction while flying.

Plating Tiers

Plating comes in escalating tiers: Basic Armor Plating, Iron Armor Plating, Iron Alloy Armor Plating, Steel Armor Plating, Advanced Armor Plating, Elite Armor Plating, Ultimate Armor Plating, Flux Armor Plating, and Gelid Enderium Armor Plating. Match the plating tier to the jetpack tier you are upgrading. For example, an Iron Jetpack upgrade uses Iron Armor Plating, while a Diamond Jetpack upgrade uses Advanced or Elite plating depending on the branch.

Crafting the Armored Variant

Place the unarmored jetpack and the appropriate plating in a crafting grid. The result is the armored jetpack, which keeps the same flight behavior but adds armor points. You cannot convert back to unarmored without recrafting. If you also want padding, Tough Fabric Padding and Padded Low Voltage Jetpack (Armored) exist for the low-voltage line, giving additional comfort-style protection.
