Cooling Your Jetpack with Cryogenic Components

Cryogenic Crystal and Coolant Unit

High-tier jetpacks generate heat during sustained flight. The Cryogenic Crystal and Cryogenic Coolant Unit are the mod's thermal management items. The Cryogenic Crystal is the base material; the Cryogenic Coolant Unit is the assembled cooling module.

Where They Fit

Cooling components slot into advanced jetpack recipes, particularly the Advanced Jetpack, Elite Jetpack, and Ultimate Jetpack lines, as well as their armored forms. If your jetpack overheats or drains faster than expected during long flights, upgrading to a tier that includes a Cryogenic Coolant Unit reduces that penalty.

Crafting Order

Produce Cryogenic Crystals first, then combine them into a Cryogenic Coolant Unit. Keep a stock of both before attempting the Advanced or Elite jetpack recipes, since each craft consumes at least one unit. Pair the coolant unit with Advanced Armor Plating or Elite Armor Plating when building the armored variant so you do not have to recraft the cooling module later. For the Ultimate tier, stockpile multiple coolant units in advance.
