Moving and Releasing Cats with Certificates and Carriers

Registering Ownership

Tame a wild cat by feeding it Catnip until hearts appear. Then right-click the tamed cat with an Adoption Certificate to register it as yours. Registered cats stay with you and can be managed like any other pet.

Picking Up a Cat

Craft a Pet Carrier and use it on a tamed cat to pick the cat up. The cat is stored safely inside the carrier. Carry the carrier to wherever you want the cat to live, then place it down to release the cat at that spot.

Releasing a Cat

If you want a cat to return to the wild, use a Release Certificate on it. The cat stops being your pet and can wander freely again. This is useful if you have too many cats or want to relocate one outdoors.

Preventing Unwanted Litters

Use a Sterilization Potion on a tamed cat to stop it from breeding. This is helpful when you want to keep a cat as a companion without producing kittens.

Setting Up the New Home

Before releasing a cat into a new area, place a Cat Bowl, a Litter Box, and a Tree Bed nearby. Add a Scratching Post or a Window Perch so the cat has something to do. Keep Catnip on hand in case you need to tame or re-tame cats in the area.
