How to Obtain and Use Test Shears

Getting Test Shears

Test Shears are a registry item in SimpleCore API. They are obtained the same way as other registry entries: through the mod's item registration. Once you have a pair in your inventory, they function as a hand-held tool.

Using Test Shears

Hold Test Shears in your main hand and right-click the block or entity you want to interact with. Because they are registered as shears, they respond to shearable targets the same way vanilla shears do. Use them on leaves to break them quickly, or on wool-bearing entities to collect their drops.

If you are testing SimpleCore API's registration system, place a Test Shears item in a chest or drop it on the ground to confirm it persists correctly across world saves. Combine this with the other registered items — Original Copper Ore, Test Furnace, and Test Pressure Plate — to verify that all four entries load together.

Practical Notes

Test Shears do not require a crafting recipe to exist in your world; they are available directly from the registry. If you cannot find them in the creative inventory, check that SimpleCore API is loaded before any mod that depends on it. Use them alongside Test Pressure Plate to build simple redstone test rigs where shearing a block triggers a signal.
