How to Craft a Plane at the Plane Workbench
Build the Plane Workbench
Place a Plane Workbench block to open the plane crafting interface. This is where the four simpleplanes:plane_workbench recipes are made, separate from a normal crafting table. You also need a Propeller, an Engine (Furnace Engine, Electric Engine, or Liquid Engine), and a Seat or Seats Upgrade depending on the airframe you want.
Assemble the Airframe
Use the Plane Workbench to produce the airframe you want: Plane, Large Plane, Helicopter, or Cargo Plane. Each airframe consumes its own set of parts, so gather enough materials before starting. A basic Plane needs a Propeller and an Engine; the Helicopter uses its own rotor assembly built at the same bench. The Cargo Plane and Large Plane are larger airframes and require more parts.
Fit Engines and Upgrades
Install your chosen Engine into the airframe. Furnace Engine burns fuel, Electric Engine draws charge, and Liquid Engine uses liquid fuel. Add a Seats Upgrade to carry passengers, a Shooter Upgrade for weapons, Plane Armor for protection, a Folding Upgrade to pack the plane into an item, and a Rocket Booster for extra thrust. Use a Wrench to remove or swap installed parts without losing them.
Repair and Recover
Carry a Quick Fix Kit to repair damage in the field. A Supply Crate can be attached to haul items, and Floaty Bedding lets the plane land on water. Once assembled, the plane is ready to place in the world and fly.
