How to Add a Headlamp to Your Diving Helmet

Crafting the Headlamp Variants

Both helmet tiers have a headlamp version: Diving Helmet (Headlamp) and Lava Diving Helmet (Headlamp). Each is made with a shapeless recipe that combines the finished plain helmet with a light source. Craft the plain Diving Helmet first, then convert it, or craft the plain Lava Diving Helmet first and convert that. You do not need an extra Diving Helmet Core for the conversion, because the Core is already consumed inside the plain helmet.

Swapping and Using the Headlamp Helmet

Place the Diving Helmet (Headlamp) or Lava Diving Helmet (Headlamp) in your head armor slot. It functions as the matching tier's helmet and also emits light, so you can see while diving without holding a torch. The headlamp helmet still counts as part of its set: pair Diving Helmet (Headlamp) with Air Tank, Diving Pants, and Flippers for water, or pair Lava Diving Helmet (Headlamp) with Lava Coolant Tank, Lava Diving Pants, and Lava Flippers for lava.

Keeping a Spare

Because the conversion consumes the plain helmet, keep one plain Diving Helmet and one plain Lava Diving Helmet in storage if you want the option to switch back. If a headlamp helmet is lost, you must craft a new plain helmet and convert it again, so stock the materials for both steps.
