What You Need

Both soups are crafting recipes, not cooking recipes. You need an Ear Of Corn as the corn component. Chicken Corn Chowder additionally requires chicken, while Corn Chowder does not. Gather your Ear Of Corn from the farm first — kernels alone will not substitute here.

Crafting Corn Chowder

Open a crafting grid and combine an Ear Of Corn with the other chowder ingredients to produce Corn Chowder. Because the recipe is shapeless, the position of each item in the grid does not matter; only the set of items does. Place them anywhere in the grid and take the Corn Chowder from the output slot.

Crafting Chicken Corn Chowder

Chicken Corn Chowder follows the same shapeless logic but adds chicken to the ingredient list alongside the Ear Of Corn. If you have cooked chicken available, use it here rather than eating it plain — the chowder is the better use of the ingredient.

Managing Your Corn Supply

Every chowder consumes an Ear Of Corn, and ears come from Corn Kernels via crafting. That means each bowl of chowder costs you kernels that could otherwise have been planted. Before crafting a batch, set aside enough Corn Kernels to replant your plot, then convert the rest into Ear Of Corn for chowder. This keeps the farm self-sustaining while you eat well.
