Cooking Corn: Roasted Corn, Popcorn, and Corn Chowder
Smelting and Smoking
Put an Ear Of Corn into a furnace to smelt it into Roasted Corn. A smoker does the same job faster, producing Roasted Corn as well. Use whichever you have built; the output is identical.
Campfire Cooking
A campfire cooks an Ear Of Corn directly into Roasted Corn without any fuel. This is the cheapest option early on if you have not built a furnace yet.
Popcorn
Popcorn is produced by cooking Corn Kernels. Run Corn Kernels through your furnace or smoker to turn them into Popcorn. Keep the kernels separate from your planting stock so you do not cook your whole seed supply.
Corn Chowder
Corn Chowder is made from Ear Of Corn together with other ingredients in a crafting recipe. Chicken Corn Chowder is the variant that includes chicken. Both are crafted rather than cooked, so assemble the ingredients at a crafting grid instead of a furnace.
Practical Order
1. Harvest Ear Of Corn from your farm.
2. Smelt, smoke, or campfire-cook ears into Roasted Corn for a simple meal.
3. Cook spare Corn Kernels into Popcorn.
4. Craft Corn Chowder or Chicken Corn Chowder when you have the extra ingredients on hand.
