Making Blueprints and Templates
Blueprint Paper
Blueprints are the patterns that define gear parts. Start by crafting Blueprint Paper, then use it to create specific blueprints such as Axe Blueprint, Dagger Blade, Bow Blueprint, or Binding Blueprint.
Blueprint Book and Packages
Store and organize blueprints with the Blueprint Book. Blueprint Packages let you bundle blueprints for storage or transfer. Keep your blueprints in the book so you do not lose the patterns needed for gear_crafting.
Templates
Templates are reusable stamps for producing parts. Examples include Axe Template, Dagger Template, Bow Template, Binding Template, Cord Template, and Coating Template. A Template plus the correct material yields a consistent part every time.
Coating Smithing Template
The Coating Smithing Template is used specifically for applying coatings to gear. Combine it with a Coating and the target item.
Workflow
1. Craft Blueprint Paper.
2. Create the blueprint for the part you need.
3. Use the blueprint or template at the Gear Smithing Table with the correct material.
4. Store finished blueprints in the Blueprint Book.
Blueprints and templates are reusable, so once you have one for a part type you can produce that part repeatedly with any valid material.
