How to Use the Sign Angle Wrench to Point Sign Posts

What the Wrench Does

The Sign angle wrench is the tool that controls which direction a placed Sign Post faces. A freshly placed post will not necessarily point where you want it, so the wrench is the step that turns a decorative block into a working direction marker.

Adjusting a Sign Post

1. Craft a Sign angle wrench.

2. Place your Sign Post (Oak, Stone, Iron, or Red Mushroom) on the ground.

3. Hold the Sign angle wrench and use it on the placed Sign Post.

4. Each use changes the angle the post points toward.

5. Keep using it until the post faces the direction you want travelers to walk.

Building a Marked Route

Work along your path in order. Place a Sign Post at the start, angle it toward the next post, then move to that post and angle it toward the one after. At forks, place a separate post for each branch so the direction is unambiguous.

Because the wrench only changes the angle and does not remove the block, you can re-aim any post later without breaking and replacing it. Carry the wrench with you on any trip where you plan to extend or correct a route.

Combine the wrench with the Signpost paint brush if you also want to recolour posts — the wrench handles direction, the brush handles appearance.
