Fixing Scuba Gear That Stops Working Underwater

Check the Full Set First

The Scuba Gear Mod has only four items: Scuba Boots, Scuba Chestplate, Scuba Helmet, and Scuba Leggings. Underwater breathing and movement depend on wearing the complete set. If you sink and start losing air, the most common cause is a missing or replaced piece.

Open your inventory and inspect all four armor slots:

• Helmet slot: Scuba Helmet
• Chestplate slot: Scuba Chestplate
• Leggings slot: Scuba Leggings
• Boots slot: Scuba Boots

If any slot holds a different armor item, remove it and equip the matching Scuba Gear piece.

Restoring the Set

After correcting the slots, return to the water and swim down again. The Scuba Helmet restores underwater breathing once it is back in the helmet slot, and the Scuba Boots and Scuba Leggings restore underwater movement. The Scuba Chestplate must also be equipped for the full set to function.

Quick recovery steps:

1. Surface or move to safety.

2. Open your inventory.

3. Replace any non-Scuba piece with its Scuba Gear counterpart.

4. Confirm all four slots show Scuba Gear items.

5. Re-enter the water and dive.

Keep all four pieces in your inventory during dives so you can re-equip immediately if a slot gets changed. Never dive with only part of the set equipped.
