Choosing the Right Scanner Module for the Job

Match the Module to the Task

Each Scanner Module answers a different question. Installing the wrong one wastes charge and returns nothing useful.

• Searching for buried ore? Use Scanner Module: Common Ores for coal, iron, and similar blocks, or Scanner Module: Rare Ores for diamonds and other scarce blocks.
• Looting structures? Use Scanner Module: Chests to highlight containers through walls.
• Caving with danger nearby? Use Scanner Module: Monsters to reveal hostiles before they reach you.
• Farming or hunting? Use Scanner Module: Animals for passive creatures, or Scanner Module: Living Entity for a broader sweep.
• Diving or draining? Use Scanner Module: Fluids to locate water and lava pockets.
• Mapping terrain? Use Scanner Module: Block to reveal placed blocks.

Combining with Range

Scanner Module: Range increases the scan radius. Install it when your target is spread out, such as ore veins deep below or chests across a large structure. Because range increases energy use, pair it only with the detection module you actually need.

Practical Rotation

Carry several modules and swap them as your goal changes: ores while mining, chests inside structures, monsters while exploring caves, fluids near lava. This keeps every scan purposeful and conserves charge.
