Building with Gloomy Tiles and Their Variants

Base Blocks and Shapes

Gloomy Tiles are the core building block of the set. From them you can produce Gloomy Tile Slab, Gloomy Tile Stairs, Gloomy Tile Vertical Slab, and Gloomy Tile Wall. Use stonecutting for the cleanest conversion — one Gloomy Tiles block yields the shape you need without wasting material. Vertical slabs let you build thin walls and pillars that normal slabs cannot match.

Decorative Upgrades

Chiseled Gloomy Tiles and Runed Gloomy Tiles are the decorative variants. Place Chiseled Gloomy Tiles as accent panels between plain tile sections, and Runed Gloomy Tiles where you want a carved, magical-looking surface — good for framing a Conch of Conjuring altar or a Wand of Freezing display. Mix all three tile types in a single wall to break up flat surfaces.

Practical Layout Tips

Start with a floor of Gloomy Tiles, then ring it with Gloomy Tile Stairs for a stepped border. Use Gloomy Tile Walls as railings around a Creeper Spore Sack farm so spores stay contained. Vertical slabs work well as window dividers and as the edges of raised platforms. Because every variant comes from the same base block, you can commit to a large build and reshape pieces later with a stonecutter instead of mining them out.
