Troubleshoot Color Banding or Unnatural Colors

Identify the Problem

Color banding appears as visible stripes or gradients where smooth color transitions should exist. Unnatural colors occur when saturation adjustments make certain biomes or blocks look oversaturated or wrong.

Reset to Default Settings

Return all shader sliders to their default positions. This helps determine whether the issue is caused by your custom settings or a deeper compatibility problem. Default settings are balanced for most hardware and biome types.

Check Biome-Specific Issues

Some biomes may appear more affected than others due to their base color palettes. Nether and End dimensions sometimes show more pronounced color shifts. This is normal behavior for a saturation-focused shader.

Verify Compatibility

Ensure your graphics driver is up to date, as shader rendering depends on proper GPU support. Older drivers may cause color artifacts. Also confirm no conflicting shaders are active simultaneously.

Adjust Selectively

If specific biomes look wrong, try reducing vibrance slightly rather than saturation. This often resolves unnatural appearance while preserving the cartoon aesthetic.
