Optimize Shader Performance on Low-End Hardware

Verify Shader is Active

Confirm Saturation Test3 Shaders is selected in Video Settings > Shaders. The mod is designed for minimal performance impact, but verify it's properly loaded by checking for the characteristic color adjustments in your world.

Adjust Graphics Settings

If you experience lag, reduce other graphics settings first: lower render distance, disable fancy graphics, and turn off animated textures. The shader itself has minimal overhead, so bottlenecks usually come from other video options.

Monitor Frame Rate

Use F3 debug screen to watch your FPS. Saturation Test3 Shaders should add negligible frame loss—typically less than 5 FPS impact on compatible systems. If you see larger drops, your hardware may struggle with shader processing generally, not this mod specifically.

Disable if Necessary

If performance remains poor, temporarily disable the shader to confirm it's the culprit. You can always re-enable it later. The mod prioritizes compatibility with potato computers, but extremely old systems may need to run vanilla instead.
