Understand what the green salmon icons mean during status effects

Recognize the status effect state

When you consume food or are affected by hunger-related status effects, your salmon icons change color to green. This visual shift alerts you that a temporary status is active without cluttering your screen with extra notifications.

Common triggers for green salmon

Green salmon typically appear when you have active food-related buffs or debuffs. These might include effects from enchanted foods, potion interactions, or mod-specific status conditions that modify your hunger behavior.

Monitor duration at a glance

The green coloring persists only while the status effect is active. Once the effect expires, your salmon icons return to their normal color. This makes it easy to track temporary food benefits without opening your status screen.

Combine with other mods

If using mods that add custom status effects tied to food, the green salmon indicator should still function. The color change provides consistent visual feedback across different mod combinations.
