Adjust Shader Brightness and Contrast

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated shader settings key (usually accessed through your video settings or a dedicated keybind). Look for the RTUShader profile in your active shader list.

Modify Lighting Parameters

Within the shader menu, locate brightness and contrast sliders. RTUShader provides controls for:

  • Ambient brightness: Controls how bright blocks appear in shadowed areas during daytime
  • Overall exposure: Adjusts the general light level across your world
  • Contrast intensity: Makes shadows deeper or softer depending on your preference

Fine-tune for Your Playstyle

If you find the default soft lighting too dim for mining or building, increase ambient brightness. For a more dramatic appearance with deeper shadows, reduce ambient values. Test changes in different biomes and times of day—RTUShader's custom sky coloring means lighting varies significantly between sunrise, noon, and dusk.

Save your settings once satisfied. Changes apply immediately without restarting your world.
