How to Get Rope in the Ropes Mod

Grow and Harvest Flax

Rope starts with Flax. Break Flax Bush blocks in the world to obtain Flax Seeds and Fresh Flax. Plant Flax Seeds on farmland to grow Flax Crop. Once Flax Crop is mature, harvest it for Fresh Flax and more Flax Seeds to replant.

Dry the Flax

Fresh Flax must be dried before it can become Rope. Place a Drying Rack and put Fresh Flax on it. After drying completes, you receive Dry Flax. Dry Flax is the material you need for rope crafting.

Craft the Rope

Combine Dry Flax using the mod's crafting recipes to produce Rope. Rope is both an item and a placeable block. Keep some Rope as an item for crafting and hold the rest for building.

Make a Block of Rope

Rope can be packed into a Block of Rope. Use the Block of Rope as a compact storage form or as a decorative building block. Break a Block of Rope to recover Rope.

What to Do With Rope

Rope feeds into further recipes, including Rope Arrow. Once you have a steady Flax Crop farm and a Drying Rack running, you can produce Rope continuously without hunting for it in the world.
