Adjust Bloom Intensity for Bright Light Sources

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu while in-game by pressing the designated key (usually found in your controls settings or shader menu). Look for the bloom or glow adjustment section.

Fine-Tune Bloom Effect

Locate the bloom intensity slider. This controls how much the soft glow spreads from torches, lanterns, glowstone, and sunlight. Lower values create a subtle halo effect, while higher values produce more dramatic bloom that can affect nearby blocks.

Test your changes by standing near bright light sources:

  • Torches and lanterns show bloom most noticeably
  • Sunlight during midday reveals bloom on bright surfaces
  • Glowing blocks demonstrate the effect clearly

Apply and Verify

Adjust the slider to your preference, then move around your world to see how it affects visibility and atmosphere. If bloom feels too strong and obscures details, reduce it. If it's barely visible, increase it slightly. The shader is designed to keep bloom gentle, so extreme values aren't necessary.

Your preference will persist until you change it again.
