How to Build a Basic Screen Display

Placing the Screen

Place a Screen block where you want the display. Screens are the output surface; they show nothing until a Screen Controller feeds them data. Place a Screen Controller adjacent to or near the Screen, then connect the two with a Screen Link. Right-click the Screen Link on the Screen Controller, then on the Screen, to bind them.

Adding Modules

Open the Screen Controller interface. Insert a Module Template into a slot, then add a Screen Module to define what the screen shows. Available screen modules include Text Screen Module, Button Screen Module, Clock Screen Module, Counter Screen Module, Counter Plus Screen Module, Energy Screen Module, Energy Plus Screen Module, Fluid Screen Module, Fluid Plus Screen Module, Inventory Screen Module, Inventory Plus Screen Module, Machine Information Screen Module, and Redstone Screen Module. Each module occupies a position on the screen grid; set its coordinates in the controller so it does not overlap other modules.

Powering and Testing

The Screen Controller needs power. Run Wire from a power source to the controller, or place it within range of an existing powered network. Once powered, the screen renders whatever the inserted modules report. Swap modules in and out of the controller to change the display without breaking the Screen block itself. Use Text Screen Module for static labels and the Plus variants when you need denser readouts from the same block.
