How to Add Storage Modules to a Modular Storage Block

Why modules matter

A Modular Storage block starts with limited space. Tier 1 Storage Module items are the way to increase that space. Each module you add raises how much the block can hold.

Inserting a module

Right-click your Modular Storage block to open its interface. Find the module slots in the interface. Place a Tier 1 Storage Module into an empty module slot. The block's capacity increases as soon as the module is inserted. Repeat with additional Tier 1 Storage Module items to keep expanding, as long as free module slots remain.

Managing modules

If you need the module back, remove it from its slot in the interface. Removing a module reduces the block's capacity, so make sure the stored items still fit before you pull one out. Keep the block's contents below the reduced limit to avoid problems.

Planning your storage

Decide how much you need to store before adding modules. For a small outpost, one or two Tier 1 Storage Module items may be enough. For a main base, fill the available module slots. Because modules are items, you can craft more and stockpile them, then upgrade blocks as your needs grow.
