Troubleshoot Pixelation Looking Uneven or Glitchy

Common Visual Issues

Sometimes RetroPixel Shaders can produce uneven pixelation, where some areas look crisp while others appear blurry or misaligned. This usually stems from shader settings or rendering conflicts.

Fixes to Try

1. Reset shader settings: Return all RetroPixel options to default values, then adjust only Pixel Size

2. Check your resolution: Pixelation works best when your screen resolution is a clean multiple of your pixel size. If mismatched, the effect can look jagged

3. Disable conflicting features: Turn off any extra visual enhancements in your shader options that might interfere (bloom, motion blur, etc.)

4. Verify lighting is on: RetroPixel keeps standard game lighting active. If lighting looks broken, the pixelation may appear wrong too

5. Test in different biomes: Some biomes with extreme lighting (caves, nether) may show artifacts. This is often normal

Performance vs. Quality

If pixelation looks stuttery or inconsistent, your system may be struggling. Lower the pixel size slightly or reduce other graphics settings (render distance, particles) to stabilize the effect and ensure smooth, even pixelation across your entire view.
