Reduce Lag and Improve Performance with Shader Optimization

Switch to Medium Profile

If you're experiencing frame rate drops, access your shader settings and select the Medium graphics profile instead of High. This reduces the shadowmap resolution and GI calculation overhead while maintaining the core lighting improvements and bloom effects.

Disable or Lower Bloom Intensity

The bloom effect around bright light sources is visually striking but can impact performance. Find the Bloom Strength or Bloom Intensity slider and reduce it. You'll still see glowing effects around torches and lanterns, but with less GPU strain.

Adjust Shadow Distance

Lower the Shadow Distance or Shadowmap Range value to reduce the area the shader calculates shadows for. This is especially helpful in large open areas. Shadows will still appear near the player, but distant terrain will have simpler lighting.

Monitor Frame Rate

Use F3 debug screen to watch your FPS as you make changes. Small adjustments often yield noticeable performance gains without sacrificing the shader's visual character.
