Adjust Global Illumination Intensity for Your World

Access Shader Settings

Open the shader options menu by pressing the designated key (usually Right Shift + R or through your graphics settings). Look for the Global Illumination or GI section in the shader configuration panel.

Fine-Tune Light Bouncing

Locate the slider or value for GI Intensity or Light Bounce Strength. Increase this value to make indirect light from bouncing rays more prominent—useful in caves where you want more ambient glow from nearby blocks. Decrease it if the lighting feels washed out or if you prefer stronger shadows and contrast.

Test in Different Environments

Visit a cave system, a bright outdoor area, and an interior room to see how your changes affect each space. The shadowmap-driven system responds differently depending on how much direct sunlight or torch light reaches an area. Adjust incrementally and take screenshots to compare before and after.

Save Your Preferences

Once satisfied, confirm and save your shader profile. Your settings will persist across sessions.
