Obtain the Gourmand's Digest

Before you can craft any custom foods, you need the in-game cookbook. Place a Book and Quill in a furnace and smelt it like you would cook food. Once smelted, you'll receive the Gourmand's Digest—your complete guide to all available recipes.

Find Your First Recipe

Open your inventory and look at the Gourmand's Digest. It lists ingredients and preparation steps for every custom food in the pack. Start with something simple that uses ingredients you already have, like basic crops or meat.

Unlock Recipes Automatically

As you collect cooking ingredients while exploring or farming, recipes unlock automatically in your vanilla recipe book. You don't need to do anything special—just pick up the items and they'll appear as available crafts.

Craft at Your Crafting Table

Once a recipe is unlocked, open your crafting table and search for the dish by name in the recipe book. Follow the ingredient layout shown and craft your first meal. Congratulations—you're now a cook!
