Maintain Vanilla Aesthetics While Using Shaders

Disable Aggressive Visual Effects

Refract Shaders is designed to preserve the blocky vanilla look, but you can dial back features that feel too stylized. In shader settings, reduce bloom intensity if the glow around lights feels too cinematic or unrealistic.

Keep Block Textures Unmodified

This shader pack does not alter block textures—it only changes lighting and reflections. Your blocks retain their original appearance. If you want pure vanilla visuals, simply disable colored lighting intensity to remove the tinted light effect.

Balance Realism and Simplicity

Soft shadows and water reflections enhance depth without breaking immersion. These effects complement vanilla gameplay rather than replace it. Test by toggling individual features on and off to see which combination feels most "vanilla-plus" to you.

Use Minimal Settings

For the most authentic vanilla experience, enable only soft shadows and water reflections while keeping bloom and colored lighting at low levels. This gives you improved clarity and depth without dramatic visual changes that clash with the classic blocky aesthetic.
