How to Autocraft with Refined Storage

Set up the crafting blocks

Place an Autocrafter on your network with Cable. The Autocrafter holds patterns and performs the actual crafting. Attach a Pattern Grid to the network to write patterns, and a Crafting Grid to request crafts.

Open the Pattern Grid and encode a pattern for the item you want to make. The pattern records the recipe. Move the encoded pattern into the Autocrafter.

Request and monitor crafts

Open the Crafting Grid and click the item you want. If a pattern for it exists in an Autocrafter, the network will pull the ingredients from storage and craft it. If an ingredient is missing, the request stalls until the ingredient is supplied.

Use an Autocrafting Monitor to watch active crafting jobs and see what is still pending. For larger setups, an Autocrafter Manager lets you view and organize many Autocrafters from one screen.

Add an Autocrafting Upgrade to a Grid to enable crafting requests from that Grid. If you want to craft from a distance, use a Wireless Transmitter with a Portable Grid or a Wireless Grid so you can request crafts without standing at a Crafting Grid.

Keep every Autocrafter cabled to the Controller. A pattern in an unpowered Autocrafter will never run.
