How to Move Items Between Containers with Refined Pipes

Choose the right item pipe tier

Item pipes come in five tiers: Basic Item Pipe, Improved Item Pipe, Advanced Item Pipe, Elite Item Pipe, and Ultimate Item Pipe. Higher tiers move items faster and can carry more throughput, so pick the tier that matches how much you need to transfer. All five are crafted as shaped recipes.

Connect and extract

Place item pipes so they touch the inventory you want to pull from and the inventory you want to fill. Pipes connect to each other and to inventories they touch.

To actually pull items out of a source inventory, attach an Extractor Attachment to the pipe face touching that source. Extractor Attachments come in the same five tiers as the pipes: Basic Extractor Attachment, Improved Extractor Attachment, Advanced Extractor Attachment, Elite Extractor Attachment, and Ultimate Extractor Attachment. Match the attachment tier to your pipe tier for the best throughput.

Steps:

1. Place a line of item pipes from the source inventory to the destination inventory.

2. Place an Extractor Attachment on the pipe segment that touches the source.

3. Confirm the pipe network reaches the destination inventory.

Items will then be pulled from the source and routed along the pipe line into the destination. If nothing moves, check that the Extractor Attachment is on the face touching the source inventory and that every pipe segment connects end to end.
