How to Move Fluids with Refined Pipes

Pick a fluid pipe tier

Fluid pipes are available as Basic Fluid Pipe, Improved Fluid Pipe, Advanced Fluid Pipe, Elite Fluid Pipe, and Ultimate Fluid Pipe. Each is a shaped crafting recipe. Higher tiers move fluid faster, so use a higher tier when you need to keep up with a fast machine or a large tank.

Set up extraction

Fluid does not move on its own. You need an Extractor Attachment on the pipe face that touches the fluid source. Extractor Attachments come in matching tiers: Basic Extractor Attachment, Improved Extractor Attachment, Advanced Extractor Attachment, Elite Extractor Attachment, and Ultimate Extractor Attachment.

Steps:

1. Place fluid pipes in a continuous line from the fluid source to the destination tank or machine.

2. Put an Extractor Attachment on the pipe segment touching the source.

3. Make sure the far end of the pipe line touches the destination.

Match the Extractor Attachment tier to the fluid pipe tier where possible; a Basic Extractor Attachment on a Basic Fluid Pipe is the simplest working setup, and upgrading both together increases throughput.

If fluid does not flow, verify the Extractor Attachment is on the source-facing side and that no pipe segment is disconnected. Fluid pipes only carry fluids, so do not mix them into an item line.
