Adjust Lighting and Ambient Effects Across Biomes
Access Lighting Controls
Open shader options and navigate to the lighting, atmosphere, or ambient section. This menu controls how light behaves across different times of day and biome types.
Customize Biome-Specific Lighting
Look for options to adjust:
- Ambient brightness — how bright unlit areas appear
- Contrast — the difference between lit and shadowed regions
- Color grading — tints applied to specific biomes (deserts may have warm tones, forests cooler ones)
- Sky influence — how much the sky color affects overall lighting
Test Across Day-Night Cycles
Observe how your settings look during sunrise, midday, sunset, and night. Lighting should feel natural but enhanced compared to vanilla. Shadows should provide depth without making caves or interiors too dark to navigate.
Fine-Tune Per Environment
Different biomes benefit from different lighting approaches. Snowy biomes may need brighter ambient light, while dense forests can handle deeper shadows. Some shaders allow per-biome customization; if available, adjust each biome individually for cohesive results.
