Generating Short Pulses with the Pulse Redstone Relay

Why You Need a Pulse

Many circuits only want a brief blip of power, not a sustained signal. The Pulse Redstone Relay takes a longer input and turns it into a short output pulse, so downstream blocks see a single clean edge instead of a held line.

Craft it using the redstonepen:crafting_extended_shapeless recipe type, mixing the loose ingredients anywhere in the grid. Place the block between your source and the circuit you want to trigger.

Chaining Pulses into Logic

Wire your input into the relay and take the output to whatever needs the edge. A common pattern is to place a Bi-Stable Redstone Relay after the Pulse Redstone Relay: the pulse flips the bi-stable state, and the bi-stable holds it. That gives you a press-to-toggle behaviour from a plain held signal.

If you need the pulse inverted, route the Pulse Redstone Relay output through an Inverted Redstone Relay. If you need the pulse to jump a gap, send it through a Bridging Redstone Relay instead. All three are placed and wired the same way, so you can rearrange them freely while tuning the timing of your circuit.
