How to Read Redstone Strength with Analog Gauges

Pick the right gauge

Use an Analog Voltmeter Redstone Gauge when you need a numeric readout of signal strength. Use an Analog Bar Redstone Gauge for a bar-style display, a Glass Bar Redstone Gauge for a transparent bar, or a Glass Tube Redstone Gauge for a tube-shaped indicator. The Small Analog Voltmeter Redstone Gauge and Small Digital Display Redstone Gauge are compact versions for tight builds.

Wire the gauge to a signal

Place the gauge against a wall and run redstone dust from the signal source into its input face. The gauge reads the strength of the incoming signal, so a line fed through an Industrial Dimmer or an Industrial Comparator Switch shows a variable value instead of a simple on/off.

To monitor a chest's fill level, run a comparator from the chest into the gauge. To monitor a machine's output, feed the gauge from the machine's redstone output. The bar and tube gauges fill proportionally to signal strength; the voltmeter shows the numeric level.

For a remote readout, place an Industrial Analog Switch Link Transmitter at the signal source and an Industrial Analog Switch Link Receiver at the gauge. The receiver outputs the transmitted analog value, so the gauge displays the remote signal without a long dust run.
